Career Coach AI | Career development

A career coaching tool that combines career theory with AI analysis. Employees can start with self-exploration assessments and upload a résumé, then talk with an AI coach about career direction, résumés, interviews, salary negotiation, promotion and career changes. HR career conversations also get a starting point to build on. It runs in a web browser, with no software to install.

Where things got stuck

  • Employees don't know where to start thinking. "What am I suited for? Where should I go? What kind of people is the market looking for?" These questions usually only get serious attention when someone is about to leave or at the annual review.
  • Career conversations often start from zero. When HR or a manager sits down to talk, the first half goes to understanding the person's background, interests and what they care about, leaving little time to discuss next steps.
  • Assessments get done, but the results go unused. Career assessment results tend to stop at a report and never connect to the résumé, target roles or an action plan.

How it works

  1. Complete self-exploration assessments: There are 8 assessments, each taking about 3 to 8 minutes. Starting with Holland and Ikigai is recommended, which lets analysis begin in about 7 minutes. Results carry over into later coaching automatically, so nothing has to be answered twice.
  2. Upload a résumé or describe your background: Upload a PDF or Word résumé, or describe your experience and goals in text. Before the résumé is sent, the system masks the name, phone number, email, full address and national ID number in the browser and opens a review editor, so users can check and edit it themselves before sending.
  3. Pick a stage and start coaching: Five stages, from "Explore & Position" to "Advanced Scenarios," with 16 modules. If you're not sure where to begin, just tell the AI your situation and it will decide which module to start with.
  4. AI cross-analyzes and makes recommendations: The AI cross-checks assessment results, the résumé and the conversation, and suggests career directions, a résumé SWOT, rewrite suggestions and an action plan. If an assessment that would help with the question hasn't been completed yet, it reminds the user to take it.
  5. Turn it into something to take away: Generate a conversation summary in one click (what was discussed, what's been clarified, action items, open topics), or export the full conversation.

Where people make the call: Users confirm the personal data check themselves before sending a résumé. Career choices are made by the person, and assessment results serve only as a starting point for exploration. AI career coaching cannot replace a human career counselor. When deeper support is needed, the system provides a list of human counselor resources. If an emotional crisis is detected in the conversation, it directs the user to the 1925 support hotline.

Who uses it

  • Employees: Explore their careers, polish their résumés, and prepare for interviews and promotions on their own, without waiting for a formal conversation to start thinking.
  • HR: Employees can bring their own assessment results to a career conversation as a starting point for discussion. The system does not store employees' conversations or assessment content, and HR cannot see employees' records in the system.

FAQ

Can I use it for free? Yes, the public version is free for individual use. If your company wants to adopt it, get in touch to discuss.

Are the assessment results accurate? Can they be used as formal assessments? Each assessment is designed based on its own academic theory and is an independently developed assessment tool, not an officially certified instrument. Results are for personal reference only and do not define or label anyone. They work best as a starting point for exploration, with conversations with the AI coach to deepen understanding.

Are my résumé and conversations saved? The public version does not store conversation content or résumé data. Conversations and résumés are forwarded to an AI service provider for processing, and nothing is written to a database or log file along the way. Once the data reaches the provider, it is handled under that provider's privacy policy. Personal data in the résumé is masked in the browser first and checked by the user before it is sent.

Can AI replace a career counselor? No. AI career coaching cannot replace a human career counselor. If you need deeper guidance and support, we recommend seeking professional career counseling. The system provides a list of human counselor resources in the "Land Well" stage.
